The Results

For the Moot Team of the University of Bern, the Willem C. Vis International Commercial Arbitration Moot of 2015/2016 was the most successful Vis Moot yet.

The Bernese Team started off with being awarded 1st place at the Edinburgh International Willem Vis Pre-Moot (see the report here) and 2nd place at the Willem C. Vis International Commercial Arbitration Riga Pre-Moot.

The competition in Vienna this year being between 311 teams from universities all over Europe, Africa, Asia, Australia and the Americas, the Team was awarded an honourable mention for both their Memorandum for Claimant as well as their Memorandum for Respondent. These awards are only granted to around 10% of the participating teams. In the oral rounds, the Team first qualified for the round of the 64 best teams and then even moved on to the round of 32. In addition, David Möckli received an honourable mention as individual speaker.

We are extremely proud of the achievements of our students and congratulate them for their incredible performance.
