Success for the Bernese team - The team won bronze at the Willem C. Vis International Commercial Arbitration Moot!

For the 20th time in a row, a team from the University of Bern participated in the prestigious Willem C. Vis International Commercial Arbitration Moot. This year, the University of Bern was represented by Viviane Dasser, Anja Heitzmann, Marco Huber, Fabienne Mathis, Ilayda Memis and Antoine Vermeulen.

After intensive preparation and hard work in the written phase, the Bernese team traveled to the pre-moots in Fribourg, Berlin, Stockholm amd Belgrade in the oral phase, where they put their skills to the test against teams from all over the world. Finally, the Bernese Mooties made the journey to Vienna to present their arguments in four rounds.

The teams excellent work paid off when their jointly drafted Memorandum for Claimant reached the third place, thereby winning the bronze medal. This is remarkable for a competition among 390 teams from around 90 countries. In short, a crowning conclusion to the Vis Moot Court adventure that the team can look back at for a long time.

This year’s team hereby continued the ongoing success of the preceding Bernese teams. Congratulations to the team on their outstanding performance!
