32nd Vienna Moot Court - Willem C. Vis International Commercial Arbitration Moot

New Moot 2024/25

The next edition of the moot is just around the corner! The 32nd Willem C. Vis International Commercial Arbitration Moot (Vienna Moot Court / Vis Moot) will take place from October 2024 to April 2025 with the in-person finals in Vienna being scheduled for the week just before easter 2025. Participation in the moot is rewarded with 15 ECTS as a a seminar, apart from all other benefits that come with it.

The grades will be made in FS 2025. Students interested in participation should thus note that enrolment at the University of Bern (or via BeNeFri) is necessary at least until FS 2025.

Application

Students interested in participating in the moot are asked to fill out the questionnaire below in English and to submit it along with all necessary documents to Mr Loïc Stucki (loic.m.stucki@unibe.ch) by Saturday, 26 May 2024 at the latest. Please attach to this email your CV and copies of all university certificates and grades, any English language certificates, and a copy of your most recent academic paper.

After the closing date for applications, we will conduct individual interviews with all candidates. The interviews are provisionally scheduled for the evening of 29 May 2024. The precise time slots will be sent to you by e-mail on 27 May 2024. The team representing the University of Bern for the upcoming moot will be announced shortly after all candidates have been interviewed.

Information Event

The coaches will conduct an information event on Tuesday, 14 May 2024 starting at 17:45, at UniS, Room A-119. The information event is an opportunity for students interested in the moot to learn more about the competition, its benefits as well as challenges. The event will be followed by a Q&A session in which former participants will give first-hand insights. Students wanting to attend the information event are kindly asked to please sign up using this link. Please note that participation at the information event does not mean that you applied for the moot. For the application, please follow the procedure above.
